Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) is an American performer, singer, and dancer. Early Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She received her Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor as well as actress has worked with actors and directors on stage and screen for all of her career. Ashford will be next starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently is working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will return in 2023 and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for this revival Stephen Sondheim Sweeney Todd. This production will be conducted by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford has played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the crisis during which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp was the lead character of the first impeachment proceeding in America. She starred in two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. It was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway roles comprise Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren for Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver she now splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
